Hundreds of people marched through the streets of Levis on Saturday to show their support for Adil Charkaoui, before attending an Amnesty International Conference. The suspected terrorist was not allowed to attend, but later addressed his supporters via teleconference. Charkaoui was arrested in 2003 under a security certificate and accused of having links with Al Qaida. After spending nearly two years in prison without being charged he was released, but is still subject to a curfew and electronic surveillance.
